Frequently Asked Questions
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is like a tactical reset for your mind. It’s a safe, natural state where you’re fully relaxed, but your mind stays sharp and focused. Think of it like hitting the "zone" during a mission — you're alert and aware, but everything feels effortless. You actually experience these "hypnotic" states in your daily life, like when you’re daydreaming, driving (ever zone out and miss your exit?), or in the middle of a sports game.
Can I stay in a hypnotised state?
Negative. Hypnosis isn’t like being in a locked-down position. You’re always in control and can come out of it anytime you choose. No deep, lasting grogginess — just feeling refreshed and ready for the next mission.
Will I lose consciousness?
Not a chance. You’ll always know where you are and what’s going on. It’s like being on watch during a night patrol: you're alert, aware, and in control. If you need to wake up or snap out of it — you can do it instantly.
Can I drive after a hypnotherapy session?
Since hypnosis is a natural, everyday state (just like going into "auto-pilot" mode during tasks), you should have no problem driving post-session. Just like any other part of your day, you’re clear-headed and in control.
What is CBT, and why combine it with hypnotherapy?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is like the strategy and tactics manual for your mind. The NHS and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) back it as one of the most effective tools for handling anxiety, depression, and many other mental health challenges.
Now, when you combine CBT with hypnotherapy, it’s like adding extra firepower to your operation. Research shows that this one-two punch can be way more effective than CBT alone, and the treatment timeline is shorter — typically 4-6 sessions, as opposed to the usual 5-20 sessions you’d need with just CBT.
What is mindfulness, and how can it help?
Mindfulness is your tactical awareness for the present moment. It’s about staying in the now, being aware of what’s happening around you, and tuning into your body’s signals in real-time. It’s like staying sharp on patrol: you’re aware of every shift in the environment, without getting lost in the past or future.
By practicing mindfulness, you can catch when your mind starts to wander into negative zones (like worrying about something that hasn’t happened yet). It’s like being able to see the incoming threat and deciding whether to engage or let it pass.
Mindfulness, combined with hypnosis, CBT, and relaxation techniques, forms a full battle plan for keeping you focused and on track toward your goals.
What payment methods do you accept?
We keep it simple: We accept debit and credit cards via PayPal, as well as BACS transfer directly to our bank account before your session.
How long are the sessions?
The initial consultation is a thorough 90-minute briefing. After that, most sessions are 60 minutes, but this can vary depending on the treatment. Sessions for younger clients may be shorter, and we’ll discuss any adjustments before we move forward. (Shorter sessions for kids mean a lower rate).
How many sessions does treatment take?
Every mission is different, so the number of sessions varies depending on the situation. Most treatments fall between 4-12 sessions. We'll discuss a rough timeline and your specific needs during the initial consultation to give you an estimate.
What is your cancellation policy?
We run a tight ship, and time is one of our most valuable resources. That’s why we have a 36-hour cancellation policy. If we don’t get at least 36 hours' notice, there’s a cancellation fee of £25. We get that life happens, and if we can shuffle things around, we’ll always do our best to help you out.
What if I’m late for the session?
We respect your time, and we ask the same in return. If you’re late, we may not be able to extend your session to make up for lost time. The full fee will apply, regardless of your arrival time.
