Our Therapeutic Approach
At Reveille Transformations, we understand that no two people experience challenges in the same way. That’s why therapy here is never based on a fixed programme or a one-size-fits-all model. Instead, each client’s treatment plan is developed collaboratively and tailored to their individual needs, goals, and experiences.
While it can be helpful to offer an example of how therapy may begin, the direction, pace, and techniques used are always shaped by the client. Your thoughts and feelings about the process matter, and we regularly review what is working for you as sessions progress. Therapy is flexible, responsive, and evolves alongside you.
Many clients begin with Progressive Muscle Relaxation, a gentle technique that helps calm the body and mind, build a sense of safety, and create a strong foundation for further work. From there, therapy may draw on a carefully integrated range of evidence-based approaches, chosen to best support your wellbeing and long-term change.
The Approaches We Use
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH)
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy combines the practical, structured tools of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with the focused, relaxed state of hypnotherapy. In this calm and attentive state, it can be easier to explore thoughts, beliefs, and habits, and to introduce new, healthier responses. CBH works with both the conscious and subconscious mind, supporting meaningful and lasting change in a collaborative and respectful way.
Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT)
Developed by Albert Ellis, REBT is based on the understanding that it is often our beliefs about situations, rather than the situations themselves, that shape how we feel. This approach helps identify unhelpful or rigid beliefs, gently challenge them, and replace them with more balanced and compassionate perspectives. The aim is emotional resilience, flexibility, and greater choice in how life’s challenges are experienced.
Stress Inoculation Training (SIT)
Donald Meichenbaum’s Stress Inoculation Training focuses on building coping skills before stress becomes overwhelming. Clients learn to understand their stress responses, develop practical mental strategies, and practise applying them in manageable steps. Over time, this can reduce anxiety, improve confidence under pressure, and strengthen the ability to cope with challenging situations.
ACT-Informed Mindfulness
Mindfulness approaches informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) help clients develop a healthier relationship with their thoughts and feelings. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult experiences, ACT-informed mindfulness encourages noticing them with openness and reducing unhelpful struggle. Clients are supported to reconnect with what matters most to them and take meaningful action, even when life feels challenging.
Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR)
Progressive Muscle Relaxation involves gently tensing and releasing different muscle groups to increase awareness of physical tension and promote deep relaxation. This technique helps regulate the nervous system, calm the mind, and create a sense of control and grounding. PMR is often used early in therapy to support emotional safety and prepare clients for deeper therapeutic work.
